Day 9: bit.ly Day 10: bit.ly ————– Brand new content coming every week from the Shot Science Guys, so make sure to SUBSCRIBE and be the first to get it! ————— Today’s tip: KEEP THE BALL HIGH ON REBOUNDS! Offensive rebounds are a very good opportunity to get a second attempt at scoring, so you want to take full advantage. If you bring the ball down (below head-level) then you open yourself up to having it knocked away by your defender (or the little guys swooping in to snag the ball) and it will take a bit longer to get the ball back up again and get it off. If you keep it HIGH, then they don’t have a chance to knock the ball out and you can get it off MUCH QUICKER! Keep it high and less things can go wrong. Keep it HIGH and get the SCORE!! @EricGscoot you probably don’t practice your free throws when you’re tired and fatigued. You have to practice with the same conditions that you’ll confront in a game, otherwise you won’t be able to get the same results in game-time situations. Also, you might be suffering from nerves. That’s a mental roadblock you need to get over. Try our tips from the Mental Imagery and Mental Rehearsal video. Good luck!
@FrustRagetion we took a small break because the videos weren’t getting many views right around Christmas. They’re back within 24 hours
this is true but only relatively to offensive rebounds. when u catch it down on defensive rebound there is noting wrong with that couse you keep the ball save
@Mihau0794 You are right about this,however, you need to keep the ball in the “Chin up” postion before you outlet the ball on the defensive rebound as those same players will be trying to dig it out!
Wheres the other 4 tip mas

Chase, I was checking out your youtube channel last night and noticed you were were a 66′ers shirt. Did you get a gig with them?!!!
i think the ball shouldnt be high on defensive rebounds, great video, when is next coming out?
@BazhoFromTheHood We are into the editing now so should be soon.
day 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 ?
@JustLucky98 They are coming!
Coach i have a problem when i drive in to the basket. My team plays 5 on 5 games. See i am 5’2 and am pretty fast. when i am going to drive in, there is at least 2 people stepping up and when i try to finish the lay up i panic and turn it into a floater which i end up missing, on the other hand if i pass the ball i will get it stolen, What should i do
@bletma281 If they step up to defend they are leaving a player. Get them the ball. Also check out our video “Finishes at The Rim! for way to finish.
@ShotScience
how bout if its a fastbreak 2 on 1 situation
@bletma281 but there are 2defenders
@bletma281 If there are two defenders then a ream mates is obviously open. Get him the ball.
@ShotScience For example lets say i stole the ball and i am trying to make a layup but there are 2 defenders in the other side of the court, should i force my shot or just be patient
@bletma281 If you do not have the other team out numbered you should set up with your entire team. To go against two often results in a turn-over.
this tip is broken if you put the ball high that gives the defender a shot at the ball. you should rip the ball down and then post up your defender
@manfish5000 Truly, “RIP IT DOWN” but do not take it lower than your shoulders or Chin. This is the “POWER POSITION” where we must protect the ball and then it’s up and in!
@manfish5000 If you are strong with the ball they may make a stab at it, but they also run the risk of fouling you as well.
Hi shotscience, I am a small (5’6″), but I also have a pretty good jump and can reach just under the ring. I tend to grab the ball and hold it low because then I’m below the hands area, then power dribble and then go for the reverse layup. I find if I keep it high then I’m just risking getting blocked straight off the rebound.
@ShotScience What if it touches the rim? You can’t shoot it back up if it does? Don’t you have to “take it back” or that’s only half court games? (Haven’t played for a while season starts soon!)
@PianoByEar1110 You are thinking about 1/2 court games here!
